Uni-solar Ovionics LLC with its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan (USA), is the world’s largest manufacturer of triple junction amorphous silicon photovoltaic (PV) solar panels for converting sunlight into electricity. A wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices (ECD Ovonics) with over 500 employees, it is now in the process of ramping up manufacturing significantly. The company manufactures and markets flexible thin film, peel-and-stick solar laminates that can be integrated with roofs, and also supplies OEM laminates to major roofing manufacturers worldwide. The finished products are easily engineered into solar energy systems that can be installed on grid-connected buildings, and for other applications. The annual production capacity of the current 167,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant, also known as AH1, is 28 megawatts (MW).
